Feeding Recommendations
This is a mineral / energy supplement and not a feed.
Adequate grazing and / or roughage must always be available.
Before feeding an NPN-containing lick, a common salt / phosphate lick (P6) fed for at least 5 – 7 days.
Apply crib management.
Protect these livestock foods from rain. NPN is soluble and animals drinking such a solution can be poisoned.
Recommended intakes as a stimulant lick for cows:
Feed 1.25 – 1.75 kg per cow per day from 3 weeks before the start of the mating season. (Dry season).
Feed 1.5 – 2.5 kg per cow / calf per day grazing on low quality green pasture that contains less than 12% protein.
Feed 20 – 250g per day to sheep ewes in mid-pregnancy to combat weight loss.
